About Us

Here you will find more about our team.

Lindy Larkin-Price

Board Member - President - Founding Member

Lindy grew up in Lima, Peru during a dictatorship and constant terrorisim.  She saw first hand what it was like to live in a third world country with significant personal needs and poverty. Lindy moved to the United States when she was 18 years old. She has five married children and twenty one grandchildren and one great grandson. In 2009 Lindy was asked by Christian Community Action to teach English to the local Hispanic community.  This volunteer service instilled a desire to help those in challenging situations.

She later got involved with an organization that provides hygiene kits in Africa. She personally oversaw the completion of 500 kits. After all that hard work she decided to go to Uganda and distribute the kits personally. She has been to Uganda 5 times not only to help with distributing feminine hygiene kits, but to also educate young girls and women. While there she taught sewing skills to enable families to provide for themselves and be self-reliant.

She works with local businesses, organizations, and individuals to collect fabrics, sewing machines, tools, and basic necessities to distribute in Uganda.  Lindy has a huge love for the Ugandan people and wants to help in any way she can.  Her passion is quilting, sewing, cooking, baking, and dancing.

Jennifer Maynard

Board Member - Secretary

Jennifer Maynard brings her passion for service and love for adventure to her role as Secretary of Celestial Hands Africa. A licensed paramedic with experience in 911 emergency response, Jennifer has been traveling to Uganda since 2018, developing a deep connection with the country and its people.

Beyond her professional life, Jennifer and her husband live on a farm where they care for a variety of animals, including chickens, ducks, highland cows, and family pets. They are also beginning a journey into lavender farming. A devoted mother to two girls and a boy, Jennifer balances her roles with dedication and a heart for helping others.

Thuy Le

Board Member - UK Lead

Nhu-Thuy Le started her journey of service by helping immigrants learn English and adapting to American culture. She prided herself in giving back to her local communities. Her support grew further afield with Sole Hope through fund raising and collecting materials to make shoes to combat jiggers in Uganda. Then she met Lindy and Celestial Hands. Not only did she learn to sew better, she was given an opportunity to use her skills as a teacher and her love of adventure, crafting and service. She has since been on two missions to Uganda.

Thuy is mother to Christopher and Anna and currently resides in England with her husband, John. She views the world through the lens of an immigrant from war-torn Vietnam that given a supporting hand, opportunities arise to improve one’s lot in life. She hopes her service to others can open doors that once seemed shut.

John Price

Treasurer

John Price is joyfully embracing retirement and all the opportunities it brings. A dedicated Electrical Engineer by trade, John has always had a passion for building, creating, and solving problems. Even in retirement, his hands and mind stay busy with meaningful projects—most notably his involvement with Celestial Hands, a venture that has become a labor of love.

In his travels to Uganda, John has had experiences that profoundly impacted his heart. Through these journeys, he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of the land and, more importantly, the warmth and resilience of its people. Supporting his wife, Lindy, in her passion for serving the Ugandan community brings him immense joy and purpose.

When he’s not working on projects or supporting Celestial Hands, John can often be found exploring the outdoors. He thrives on fresh air and adventure—whether hiking scenic trails, casting a fishing line into quiet waters, or traveling to new destinations. At home, he finds equal satisfaction tending to his garden, where nurturing thriving plants and harvesting delicious vegetables offers both peace and reward.

Retirement for John isn’t about slowing down—it’s about leaning fully into life, purpose, and the people he loves.

2026 Team

The 2026 team is preparing to leave for Uganda in mid March.  This year we have increased the number of kits we are delivering to 1450!  We have a team of 9 this year and will be visiting secondary schools.  This means we will be delivering more kits to each school and visiting fewer schools.

Stay tuned for updates.  We will be posting daily updates to our social media pages once we arrive in Uganda.  We'll update this page once we return.

2025 Team

The 2025 team of 7 brought 1213 kits and visited 14 schools!  It was an exhausting trip but so rewarding to visit all those schools!  It was exciting to see the joy in the faces of so many girls as they received their kits.  This work is so fulfilling.  Thank you so much to all those who helped build and prepare the kits.

Visit our social media pages to see pictures and videos of all our excitement!

2024 Team

This year we had a team of 5 that traveled to Uganda.  We distributed over 815 kits to 5 schools in the remote areas of Nakasongola Uganda.  The Uganda shop 'Sisters in Zion' produced the bags for all 815 kits using beautiful local African fabric.  We forged a new relationship with another organization that provides water solutions for schools and communities in need.  The locations they serve have been requesting feminine hygiene kits.  We had an exciting time with this group distributing kits and teaching the local girls.  We look forward to future work with them.

2023 Team

What a great trip this was!  We delivered 500 kits to four schools in the Gulu district.  We brought lots of school uniforms to be distributed to local schools.  We delivered a donated ultrasound device and eyeglasses to a local clinic supported by another charity we work with.  We worked with a local pastor who does wonderful work for his community.
